Glad I came to the party late- so I could find out if the gigantic fish stayed down.
Amazing that it did.
Individually, Tim, these are all excellent.
As a story-telling series... even better.

Great sequence, Tim. Since there is no sexual dimorphism with Pied-billed Grebes, how do you know it is a male?
There is a P-BG on a local pond. No chicks in sight and nobody knows if it is a male or female.

Thanks Tony,
That's purely assumption on my part, since the female is usually the larger
of the two, and this one does a lot of hunting larger fish and just drops it off to a chick or nest area.
While the female stays with the chicks more and acts motherly, of course I'm just guessing.
