Tim thanks for your kind comments and concern. I too am always conscious of disturbing nature. I was a good distance away, and as soon as I saw any sign of nervousness from the birds I slowly backed away and left them to their nest.
For anyone concerned, I went by the Killdeer nest today and all is fine. At least one bird was on the nest undisturbed.
