I've looked at her site. I've looked at your site. I think you should think long and hard before you comment on the talent (or lack thereof) of other photographers.

Huh.
I get what she is saying, but even as a [B]very sympathetic reader it came off as pissy whining by a conceited arteest.
Thats my feelings... IDK I just dont have these issues she is having... Work with Uncle Bob, the light of DOOM, the ipads, and the like. Part of our job is to deal with any situation...keep your mouth shut like a professional and handle business.
I certainly hope she told all these couples she was posting god awful pictures of them! I wouldnt post any of those kinds of pictures of my couples even to prove a point...

Lets just say she lacks talent in dealing with guests, their cameras, and the light of doom... Guests and their gadgets are part of a wedding/event. Deal with it or find a new job.

Fortunately, I've never seen anyone taking a picture with an iPad/Tablet.
My reply:
I photograph jazz musicians...around the world. Whatever country I happen to be living in, I search out jazz musicians first, classical music second, then national/regional/local. I've traveled to over 25 countries and lived in 2/3 of them.
I've seen a lot of people take photos/videos with these devices...far too many...and the U.S. is at the top of the list.

Love how some are saying because people jump in the aisle and behave like morons it somehow reflects on her professionalism.... (rolleyes)
No one is saying she is unprofessional because of what other people do. We are saying it is unprofessional to cry about it on her blog.
Very tacky.
But you know that is what others here were really saying.

Funny, I was shooting a wedding where a fellow photographer was a guest. She kept saying, "I don't want to get in your way..." I told her, "Don't worry, just shoot if you want to. If you lean out into the aisle, I'll just lean further than you."
Isn't that the way it should be? Work around it or incorporate them into your images.

I will never understand the iPad... its so big, why would you want to carry that thing all day!? Most iPad owners have an iPhone/smartphone with the same quality camera!
I posted that Padhole link on my personal facebook and I have tons of responses of how annoyed non photographer are about ipads! At their kids school events, etc! Its not just us! lol
One comment.. I was just complaining abt this in Friday! We were trying to take pics of my boyfriends son's ball and one mom stood in the middle with her Ipad taking pics and not moving the hell outta the way when she was done so us camera carrying people could take a couple nice shots!!!
