That's the issue with the entire Nikon 1 system ... it's way over-priced.
That's true but in practice you can find very interesting deals. I use the Nikon One system because of the FT1, the compactness (much better than most other mirrorless solutions) and the fact that I could get part of the system at a very good price (temporary offers on Amazon, V1+10mm for about 200EUR and V2+10-30 for about 600 instead of 850 just to mention two examples) I hope I will be able to find that lens at a bargain price somewhere, sometime...
The price issue is also changing very quickly with other products: 80-400VR AFS in Belgium: one month ago 2650EUR street, now: 2300. D800 six months ago: 2900, now: 2300.
I agree with Guy. The current price for the 32/1.2 is over 850 Euro (I could get the FT1, the AF-S 50/1.4G, the AF-S 35/1.8G and the 50/1.8G for it and still had some money over).
This is just a prohibitive pricing in my opinion. I hope for a massive price-drop, as the 32/1.2 would make a nice companion for the neat V1+10mm-combo.
There sure is a big disconnect between Nikon 1 pricing and performance IMO. If Nikon has a monster V3 in the waiting, then maybe the pricing of the 32 f1.2 might make sense, but I'm not putting more money into the Nikon 1 system until/if/when there's a big leap in performance at the sensor/body end.

Maybe this is something to do with the yen devaluation.
To me, the M43 is a more attractive system than Nikon 1.

I agree, but not 100% anymore. I've used m4/3 almost since it was launched, in addition to my Nikon DSLR gear, and I like everything about it except AF. AF-C on m4/3 borders to unusable. This is an area where Nikon 1 with native lenses excel. Add to that the ability to AF with AF-S Nikkors, and I'm really tempted, particularly if Nikon continue to launch high quality lenses and accessories. $900 isn't cheap, but I've paid more for a couple of my m4/3 lenses.
