Hey friend--Well done! Really enjoyed the series & glad you finally got to enjoy my state!!. The Valley is a great place for these trips. Again, great job on the series.
PS: It was also great to see the pics of some of the friends I got to meet at Bosque during our Dec 2011 gathering.
Conrad, Where are you and ANt's tassles? Looks like you guys had a great time. Ant looks like he was evolving witht he asian look. I visited a small ranch in Texas a couple of years ago and a blast. Great images as usual. Bruce
Nice series Conrad. I especially like the Cara Cara and the Harris's Hawk and the White-winged Dove.
I'm fortunate enough to live in this state and have access to areas where I can do some serious private shooting. The water hole with the blind is a good idea, but you would almost need one blind and water hole for the morning hours, and another one for evening hours shooting. Does the Santa Clara ranch offer that ability?
I really like how they made sure the background is clean far enough behind the water hole so the photographer can get good separation from the subject and the background. A setup such as this would be excellent for when the Spring Migration rolls through the area as the shot of the Varied and Painted Buntings suggest.
Congratulations on the "Featured Thread of the Week"!
My gal says she was there the week before with Michael Francis shooting for the ICF competition shoot. She enjoyed your posting and I really wished I could have been able to go with her.
Conrad, very beautiful set. I also am a Lurker. I was just talking with my shooting buddies here in Fla about taking a trip to the Ranch. I will forward your post to them. It should help in convincing them. Thanks Luis.
