I used a vehicle blind with 1120mm on the kingbird and the woodies are perched directly above my backyard suet feeder. I hang the suet with a 16 foot crappie rod and I have burlap around my deck railing, balusters for some kind of blind cover. The suet hangs on the branch that they are perched on. When the woodies land, my 500 is already mounted on a tripod and ball head, set at around 18-20 feet away up on my upper deck, which is a level view to their perch. I'm shooting at mfd on the 500L (15') whenever I can.
