Maybe then they should have called the lens "Zoop" instead of "Touit". That way you could tell a lens' range name by the sound it makes. Oooops, that wouldn't work, most Zeiss lenses are noiseless...
So now the question is - what shorthand do we use for these lenses? ZT? Though that doesn't indicate which mount (like ZF/ZE does). Maybe ZN for Nex and ZX for Fuji?
Meanwhile. . . .from the 2.8/12 on the Nex-7. I like it. Note - the scaffolding on the right really looks like that (it seems doubled at first, but it's just the way the scaffolding is).
BTW, the focus hunting is really more like zoop-zoop-zoop. It does that constantly as you aim the camera around or any time you press the button (if it's in auto mode).

I think I've heard that in a song. so you are in manual focus mode but you've assigned the AF/mf button to trigger single AF. I understand now.
Zoot Suit riot
Should we start a Touit image thread now that they are in hands?
What do expect the future of the Touit line will bring? A 50mm equivalent normal lens is quite good, but 18mm equivalent is very wide and may have not quite the usability.

It would also compete directly with the Sony/Zeiss 24/1.8. Of course, the 32 competes with the 35, but the latter doesn't involve Zeiss already.
Having said that, I'd probably only personally be interested in the 90.
Zeiss doesn't seem to make zooms anymore (excluding the ZAs) so I'm leaving that out.
The 19/2 and 90/2 macro would both be very interesting. I could be mistaken with this, but I was under the impression that the Touit's were a higher grade lens than the 24 f/1.8. Thoughts? I've comments where some say the 24mm isn't quite up to the usual Zeiss standards plus it's quite large on that size body.

I would think Zeiss' devotion to expanding the Touit line is contingent on NEX expanding it's footprint into prosumer and pro market since those are the markets willing to pay $1-2k for a lens. The rumors of Sony moving A-mount to mirrorless is confusing to the many DSLR downgraders who bought NEX 6 and NEX 7. Most of the people buying Touits, NEX-6 and NEX-7 believe NEX is the future of Sony's camera division. Does Sony also believe this?
I'll be joining you ladies and gents on Wednesday.... Nex-6 + Touit 32mm just ordered w/ a few accessories. My A77 has won me over on Sony and decided I would give it a go.
The first results from ultra-wide angle Touit are quite good without being exceptional. Indeed, the objective provides very sharp and cut to the center images, but dive down brutally on the edges. The effect is observed in the course larger apertures up to f / 4,5. Beyond f / 4.5, restitution detail is present throughout the image. However, a slight blow accent when developing RAW will be a real plus! It is, as usual, around f / 9 provides that the objective of better image quality: the results are excellent. Diffraction appeared at f/14. We recommend you to download the RAW files and observe the images at 100% of your developer to judge the sharpness. ...Show more →
