Yes, it is a sewing machine needle & thread. Maybe this will help a bit more.
I always found it difficult to thread through these very small needles, where you have to focus your attention and eye/hand coordination on such a small space with exacting accuracy. I tried to capture the shallow margin for error vibe that exists inside the eye of the needle with the shallow dof.
I do try to "challenge myself" a bit on the theme, even if they often times are a bit too sublime or only a sliver of the theme's interpretation. But, this is one time that it might be okay to be very "narrow minded" about things.
Thanks again guys ... the owner of this one has asked me to shoot her vintage featherweight (this is not it), so it got me thinking about how I might want to approach such things to bring out its character.
I usually ascribe to "where the rubber meets the road", but "where the needle pulls the thread" seems to have some merit for those who are more textile inclined.
