Mine have 2 dust spots on the sensor. One I can faintly see but one is very visible around f8. Not sure if it is dust or oil though. Tried blowing it out with the rocket blower but they do not move. Anyone getting a clean copy?
I have one verrry small spot that I couldn't see until I just tested for it at f/22. I've also changed lenses about a dozen times so it may not have come from the factory.
Hit it with the rocket blower and it's clean now.
Anyone know what the turn-around time for L-brackets from RRS typically is after a new camera release?

I always have pre-ordered L-Brackets from RRS for my new cameras. I got the D600 L-Bracket on 1/25/13, about 21 days after my D600 arrived. Also, I've always had an extra BP-CS standard plate laying around that is a universal design from them. It fits perfectly on the D7100 and will do until the L-Plate arrives.

The problem with Hg vapor light is it isn't a complete spectrum. Where fluorescent and tungstun is a complete spectrum, just has a weird cast, the Hg lights is only a partial spectrum. That's why it's so tough and open to interpretation by software. Also explains why I've not seen a preset AWB for it yet.

The new horses they show are often called Green. Under these lights they often look Green too.

I hope some people are finding these comments useful on their journey to a decision, so I'll keep posting as I discover new things...
I forked out for the latest and greatest Sandisk Extreme Pro 95 MB/s cards in an effort to mitigate the small buffer. It appears to have been a useful expenditure - while the 6-shot raw buffer is small, it only takes <3 seconds to flush it out completely.
Additionally, when using "backup" mode (RAW being written to both cards) there is apparently more simultaneous writing going on than in my friend's D600. When I filled the buffer on the D600, it took more than twice as long as one card to flush it completely. When I fill the buffer on the D7100, it takes less than twice as long - <5 seconds.

A few sample shots in the backyard today. 600mm naked and 1.4x TC.
AF is fast, even with a TC. I think the FPS is fast enough for most situations, but the buffer is holding this body back too much. Nikon is holding this camera back big time. Perhaps for something bigger..

@binary visions, thanks. Your experience with the Sandisk extreme matches what I read by a user on dpreview. That user said 3fps once the card is full for 12-bit compressed. Sound about right?
@ShutteredMe, Great shots!
If anyone would like to process their D7100 files in ACR/LR4, I posted a hack here.

Excellent pictures ShutteredMe. Looks like you and the 600mm was doing the heavy lifting for these. The last one shows this camera can resolve nicely. Lovely.

If I understand what you're asking, the other user said that you can shoot at 3 FPS without hitting the buffer limitation (i.e. forever)? Or, putting it another way, once the buffer is full it'll shoot at 3 FPS and the card writing will keep up?
Edited to correct:
Writing to a single SD card, it looks like that's true - you can get 3 FPS forever in 12 bit mode. In 14 bit mode, I still get pretty close to that, maybe 2.5 FPS. In backup mode, I hit the buffer and then get about 1 FPS forever on 14 bit raw, and about 2 FPS on 12 bit raw.
That's not super precise - I'm sitting here with my computer clock and listening while watching the seconds tick, but it's close enough for me.

Today I will test the Video capabilities at Church.
Yesterday those Mercury or Sodium vapor lights did their trick.
I had the usual problems.
The D600 with Automatic WB handled it better even with the inferior? (39pt CAM4800) AF and Metering.
My best D7100 photos were with Portrait settings + more sharpening
The bottom one is at 5600 ISO

Ouch! I hate those stupid lights. Looks like the d600 AWB didn't do too bad with the WB though. I haven't had the displeasure of shooting under those lights in a while, so dunno how the d3s or d800 handle it. I'll be happy if I don't have to find out.

I got my first indoor Videos today.
The FullTime AutoFocus is worthless (as expected) unless you plan on editing a lot.
The image quality is very good.
My external recorder is in the shop so it will be next week before I can test that.
The external monitor showed all the control info instead of the LCD like my D800 does.
I have not figured how to switch it yet if possible?

Re: HPS and other singe/few spike spectrum lights:
What you're asking the camera to do when feeding it incomplete color information (if the light contains large gaps in color energy, what should the camera record? There's nothing there!)
-isn't that much different from telling a complete stranger your shoe size and then demanding that he/she knows your mother's maiden name and the name of your first pet. There simply isn't any information available for him that would enable him to do that.

Neither the D800 nor D600 handle those light much better.
They do give me better results, but probably because I have used them longer.
I will take my most powerful flash unit and try that next time.
Perhaps it can help to overcome the terrible lighting?
The horses ignor the flash, it is the wrath of the parents and trainers that I am afraid of.
They are always looking to blame their poor performance on somebody else.
