Some books I received from my grandmother before she passed away from Alzheimer's. Most had inscriptions in them dating as far back as 1888. This particular book belonged to my great grandmother.
@beavens: Thanks very much. I used a canon 430exii with diffuser to light the subject, bounced off a beige couch. I tried not to use too much light, to keep the subject looking weathered.
@ts232: Thanks. I had originally tried a looser crop on this image, but finally settled on this tighter version in order to make the inscription more prominent. The challenge was trying not to loose context of the books.
Great! I have lots of books like that, as books were a favorite gift, and nearly always inscribed. When I was 10, my Grandfather gave me Treasure Island; I haven't been the same since.
