Ian, I was born in Scotland, and although I lived there only for a short time, it always pulls at my heart. I don't think I will ever tell you to stop.
However, that shot is now two times on this page, isn't it?
Hi Carsten - it's actually the x100. I got it because I was tired of waiting for the 23mm to come out for the XP1 and figured this would give me a good pocketable fill in for now. Can't wait to get the new zoom and the 23 ... and the 56 1.2! Should be a well rounded system. I just need to decide if I'm gonna get the 14 or keep using my CV 15 for now. It's birthday month (mine is actually tomorrow) so I can go a bit crazy and somewhat justify it!
Ian, if your profile is correct, you live in Manchester. What was the context of this visit then? It seems an odd time of year to visit Scotland as a tourist?
Yes, I live just east of Manchester in the hills. The trip to Scotland was a holiday with my kids - they would get bored hanging around at home after Easter and in the summer they will be away a lot with their rafting and camping trips so it was a chance to walk on beaches and hills with them. The weather was pretty good, there were no midges (that can make Skye VERY difficult in the summer) and the kids were lovely to be with.
Because I am self-employed it can be hard to find the perfect time for a holiday so you have to take the chance when it comes.
