I got some nature photos today. I have been listening to Conrad's advice to getting low to photograph the ducks. I do not like the cold weather especially when it is below freezing and super windy. Today the temperature never rose above freezing and the wind was vicious. The wind was strong enough to create white caps on the lake! I dressed completely warm except for wearing my wind pants so my knees were freezing My fingertips were so cold they got shutter burn
Edit: I just heard that the wind gusts were in the middle 30s coupled with the below freezing temps, no wonder my knees were freezing!
I was a good girl and sat my butt down on the cold dirt with my tripod very low. Today wasn't easy, it was anything but easy
My Big Buddy was swimming with his lady but none of his photos were up to par Hopefully next time!

I know that photographing the ducks low gets lots of merit. I hope you liked? If not, there is always tomorrow
The Ruddy was having a hard time with the very furious choppy waves
Compared to the other close ups of Ruddy's I photographed in my past threads, I seem to like this Ruddy best because he has kind of a white neck so he stands out more than the dreary dark brown color.
If it was a beautiful Summer day that water would look so refreshing to be wading in! But, since it was freezing and there was ice on the edges of the lake, the ducks can have it.
