Now, if that was not thanks to the modern camera with selective focusing and your photographer sharp eyes , You may not discover her so well!!!
These images are all uncropped and minimally PP.

Nice, Robert...need to get those SS up #5 sure could have benefitted, eh?!
I hope you realize that ISO3200...is asking nothing of a D4
thanks Monkey, about the ISO
of course, of course except when one is in a hurry to shoot catching the bird before she fly away. This scene lasted fe seconds.
Ahhh, you need to set-up your D4 to "Easy ISO" Your thumb controls it with a rear wheel roll...A mode
and your eye never leaves the VF. Blurry BIF (do to lack of adequate SS) will now be a thing of the past.

Thanks for the tricks, but would you explain further for me. i love to shoot A-priority and mostly wide open. What is SS?
Don't you need 2 thumbs to change ISO?

Nice camo! They (who?) say you only see15% of the wildlife, even when looking! No wonder. Don
I wouldn't have spotted this cutie in the forest of oaks, had I not known her, her habitat and her habit so well.
I shot with 400/2.8+tc 1.7x ---it was ready in my hands. Had I had a wider lens at that time, the pictures would show the camouflage a lot better.

SS = shutter speed. No, just your right thumb Set up Easy ISO, pretty straightforward (see manual)
my manual must be to old? can't find aaaaaaeasy iso, just Easy exposure comp.
One of the really cool things with the D800 is Easy ISO. You can change ISO directly with the command dial without having
to press the ISO button. This is activated in the camera menu d7...select 2nd choice. Your eyes never have to leave the VF.
FWIW, my back-up D7K has the same feature...it's awesome!

Which one are you talking about? you started with D4 and now you are talking D800? so which one or both? Any way I can't do EAsy ISO with D4. Will try D800e.
