OK, nervous to post this considering the quality of work posted here... Haven't seen any macro's taken on any of the Fuji's (X-Series, XE1 used here) greater than 1:2. This shot is about 1.5:1. Used a Micro-Nikkor 55mm f/2.8 @f11, M2 extension tube (27.5mm), macro focusing rail, air-release for the shutter. Water drop is 4mm across.
What a cool thread! (and a cool idea Phillip). Just found it. So many impressive images and almost no smearing! Let me take the liberty to repost some of the images from Fuji x100/x100s thread; the files I posted were way too downsized, and I agree it does make difference sometimes (I don't master the craft of resize and sharpen for web though…). Hope they'll look better under this HD roof
Nope, no luck again. I would appreciate having someone explain what I do wrong. The camel shot file is 3900x2600 (!) and 5Mb (!!!). It looks small an the screen and precious details are lost… Thanks guys!

No idea what is wrong. I link to my Flick account wher I choose the size I wish to show it at. I wonder if 3000 X is to big and the site then itself does something to resize it.There must be a limit. The largest I've ever posted I think is 2000, and normally 1800. I cannot really answer the question with a definitive answer.
I just use Sigma DP2 Merrill handheld. No special setup, but lens and sensor combination is very amazing for sharpness and detail if we know how to use it, would otherwise be extremely frustrating.
