I second that request as it's always good to have feedback on good (or bad) repair services for these lenses.

I did get the lens fixed at a camera repair service center at UK for 80GBP. The name of the service center is ACS camera service centre and I sent the lens to them. It took a while for the return of the lens but they sure did a good job in repairing of my lens and it was restored to its original condition without any problems.
I requested a quote by stating the problem of the lens and they replied for a full restore to original specification service. I didn't know what and how they repaired but it indeed took some time for the calibration of the aspherical element in the lens, which require special gears and right hands to do so. They did a full clean and restore and even adjusted the focus for me as I can tell by using the same adaptor ring on my Canon 5Dmk2. They did a great job and the price was fair for me as I have been asking for quotes in London and other repairmen. One shop denied because they said they didnt have the right gear to open up the Distagon 35mm but they do all other repirs of the Contax line, they did state that the lens is quite hard to repair. I didn't want my lens to be further damaged as it requires people who know what they are doing and the right tools to repair this lens. Once the aspherical element in the lens is misaligned or misassembled the lens will not work properly (as I have been hearing from other forums).

The 80 GBP includes all the fees including tax and parts. The only other fee is the courier fee which is 15 GBP for the lens to be sent back.

Hope this helps

Advances Camera Services Ltd were very helpful when I did an IR camera conversion (that's their speciality), good to hear they do lens repair too. I'll add them to my list! As Carsten says, £80 for all that work (done well), is very good.

Wow 80gbp thats great price....i will contact them and ask if i can send the lens from slovenia and how much will they charge...
I think I will need a full restore also. The problem is that i took the lens apart by mistake when I wanted to fix infinity for a 5D (stupid me). Than I sent the lens to a germany located repair service and they aligned the lens and put it back together...but now the photos look very strange, the corners are kinda "smudged", dont know how to describe it properly... I think it has something to do with lens positioning inside - could that be it?

Thanks for the info!

The infinity calibration is under the focusing grip if you have the newer version of the CZ D35 HFT. not too sure about the older metal version though.

Always wanted to have a go at the famous triangular aperture of the Rollei D35.

I think it's about the internal lens positioning and maybe about the importance of the precision and carefulness of reassembling of the lens that i was talking about.

I'm glad that I provided useful info for you. Hope everything goes well for your repair.
