I went snow shoeing not too long ago and ended up having a rather productive day. It's hard to go wrong when treated with great light and a landscape covered in fresh snow. Posted below are just two of many I came away with. Hope you like them!
Both wonderful images and well worth the effort to get out there on the snow. I need to get those pair of snowshoes that's been on my wish list for way too long!
Both are outstanding. I'm especially fond of the marvelous layers in #1. It's great to see an image work so well even with a foreground that is very bright. There is so much visual interest behind those beautiful trees that the eye is still very attracted to the background. The second one is also terrific with its beautiful hues and that foreground shadow-as-leading-line. I'm wondering if a slight crop off of the left (and maybe top or bottom to keep the proportions) might help to 'contain' the photo a little more, but I still like it a lot.
Number 1 is my fave. Keeping the detail in the background while not blowing out the snow in the foreground is excellent. Great composition too, the white and cool blue layer behind it is great.

They are worth getting. I just recently bought some myself and this was my first real snow shoe hike. It was lots of fun!

Thanks for the input! The second shot has already been cropped a bit from the original, but it might still need a little work. I was afraid of losing those little trees on the left.
