6D images continue to shine, well done all
I am so close to getting mine, i can smell it! It's sad that my 85mm 1.2 MK II is sitting here body-less, alone, and urging to go shoot!
I worked with a LOT of cameras lately just trying to determine which direction I wanted to go in. I didn't go with a DSLR however having owned more pro and semi pro DSLR bodies from both Nikon and Canon since 1998 than I'd care to count, I must say the 6D has some of the sweetest output I've ever witnessed. I find the difference between Nikon and Canon like the difference between a "technically correct" look vs. an "artistically smooth rendtion". Different approaches both valid and both useful. IF they would take the 6D, put it in a Magnesium body, give it a flexible LCD, replace the buttons and joy stick it deserves, add 2 card slots and give it at least the focus system of the 7D they would have a camera that would set sales records and they would have a hard time keeping up making enough of them. Heck even I'd probably cave........ The sad thing of course is it would add at least $1000 to the price :-(
Lots of really cool shots, everyone. I jumped on the Canon 6D refurb special, hoping it arrives soon. Hope to sell off my 5D3 as I don't really need the AF as much and need wifi, though I already know I'm going to miss 5D3's awesome AF and AF point grouping Oh well, it is what it is.
I have a friend who runs camps to help children with self esteem issue. He is a school teacher but he does this four times a year.
I try to get up once a year to get some fresh images for him to use in promoting what he does. So on Saturday I photographed 60 screaming kids between 7am and midnight.
Each camp he has this elderly couple come along who's sole purpose it is to provide a listening and supportive ear to any of the children who have need.
Graham had come down to watch the kids do their ropes course and was a bit tired to make the uphill climb back to camp so he decided to have a rest before heading back.
Those are such terrific photos of a wonderfully self-possessed woman. She seems like a terrific person to hang out with, having a wicked sparkle in her eye with a casual posture. Unperturbed.
See -- I'm creating a fiction about each of your photos -- I consider that a high compliment to your skill at capturing decisive moments. Congrats!
Please pass on my regards -- I'm only half kidding. If you guys ever come to the LA area we should have a drink (with my wife along).
