The 6D with the 24-105L is on my wish list and the images with that lens has really helped. And while I know my Tokina 11-16 F2.8 won't work will the Canon 50 F1.8 and my 100-400L be ok? I'm seeing lots of awesome lens being used, how can I tell if it's the awesome lens or the camera? My budget will be such that I can swing the 6D & the lens but that will be it for a while.
Went out to the park today to shoot some tests with a new 1DX and decided to take the 6D along. Found some guys playing flag football and they were happy to have me shoot. 6D focus tracking seemed quite good honestly, though of course the framerate is limiting. Here's a few shot with my 400 DO:

The 6D will make any lens you have, better, even the 50/1.8. I was surprised at how well a recent copy of that lens worked on my 6D next to the 50/1.4, but having the 50/1.4, I passed the 50/1.8 along. It's focus system blew the one on my previous 60D out of the water, even though the 60D technically has a more advanced AF module; and the sensor, well, it's incredible.

Great pics. That goes against two popular opinions- that the 6D can't do sports, and that the 400mm DO isn't sharp! As an owner of both items, I'm happy to see someone agrees with me that neither are true. I played around wtih my 6D this past weekend in AV Servo and my 70-200 2.8 MKII, kept up great using center point. Although I admit I missed the flexibilitty gained from using my 7D when it comes to "reach" and focus points. But it's definately a very capable camera.
A select few from a wedding I've just got back from in the Lake District (UK). Apparently its one of the most haunted Castles in the UK (Muncaster Castle) - No ghosts here though!
Enjoy.

Thanks!
The 400 DO is epic and I wouldn't be parted from mine. Sharpness is not a problem with my copy either. I'm sure it would be outgunned by the 400 2.8 IS II on a high density sensor, but for my uses on an 18-24MP FF sensor it's fantastic. It's main weakness compared to my other 'L' superteles is that it gives up some contrast in certain lighting, but this can usually be addressed easily enough in PP.
I would never recommend the 6D for full time sports shooting, but it does seem to track focus well enough given its 4.5fps frame rate. Focus in general seems very good, like Canon's other new generation bodies.

Some great shots here. I just bought a 6D as a second body to my 5D III, so hope to contribute to the thread.
I have an 5D3 and 7D at the moment, but since getting the 5D3 the 7D felt a bit not in the same league and i like the FF rendering more than the 7D and for my uses the 7d is a bit noisy, so i'm thinking of getting a 6d to backup my 5D3 too and sell the 7d, but I don't because a 7D2 might be released early next year or a High MP camera from camera might came out next year, so i'm a bit undecided at the moment.
How do you find the 6D compared to your 5D3 in usability and ease of changing from one camera to the other because of the different button layout?
^The 6D handles differently, but I don't have any trouble adapting between the two. I keep a grip on my 5D III, but not on the 6D to keep it as my lightweight body. I sold my 7D soon after going full frame. I briefly thought of trying a 70D for the video AF, but in the end I opted for the 6D, which seems to compliment the 5D III as a backup, lightweight option, wife to use, etc.....
