To make Adobe think you on not on the web and able to check activation PM me for the 4 servers Photoshop logs on to every time you launch the program. Block them and your problems will go away. I'm assuming you have a fully licensed copy.
BTW, yes, my copy is licensed. I think turning off the "automatic" updates will stop it...but who knows. I may need those server addresses! Thanks for offering!

I did not reinstall and have periodically had to re-enter my serial number. In fact it happened just today. Then I ran the update script and installed 13.03. I've only just installed it but PS opened without asking me to re-register. Perhaps it will fix the problem.

It reoccured on me too. I contacted Adobe again and they had me reset the permissions (this is for Mac) as follows:
Macintosh HD
Library
Application Support
Adobe
then right click and select Get Info
Under Sharing and Permissions:
System = Read and Write
Admin = Read Only
Everyone = Read Only
Then save the new settings. This seems to have fixed the problem. We'll see.

I had the same problem about two or three weeks ago. On "chat" with Adobe (three times) for about 2 hours total. Ultimately, they had me uninstall CS6 and reinstall it. They also told me not to do any updates for "a couple of months" while they figure this out. So I'm back to version 13.0, and it's working fine. The Adobe updater icon at the top of my screen is showing updates are available, but I'm not biting.

I really thing there should be some recourse for companies that cause registered users this kind of hassle. Otherwise what's to stop this from snowballing? Certainly, somewhere, in the boilerplate of the check the box agreement, Adobe has protected themselves. So what's next Federal regulation?

Problems's back today. Contacted Adobe chat again and they had me enter my serial # into the trial window. They tell me this will fix the problem. I don't believe it. My "trial" is down to 10 days. What happens after that?

A letter from your lawyer would be a good start, along with an invoice for your time that was wasted dealing with Adobe's screwups.

A few months ago I updated Adobe Reader (free software) and Adobe installed McAfee Antivirus trialware on my computer without asking my permission.
I'm pretty sure they asked during the install dialog; you just skipped over their question and their default assumption of your acceptance. I have come very close to forgetting to remove that little checkmark on multiple occasions.

Happened to me. Changing the permissions (as per DISttawa) and entering my SN into the updater/trial window has let me start PS 6 4 times. So maybe this is the fix. Thanks everyone!!

I'm glad I ran into this thread. The same thing is happening to me, except the "chat expert" told me to uninstall all third party plugins. She blamed it on Nik Software . By the way, Veviza 2 does not work well in CS6, it freezes and I must force quit CS6.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled so many times and it does not fix the issue.
If anyone gets the fix to this, please let me know.

I'm using CS6 Extended v13.0.1, on 32-bit on Windows XP and the activation is still valid. But I haven't had any updates pushed on me recently. Manual updating informs me I have the latest versions of their programs installed.
