For this focal length and lens what do you guys think is a safe shutter speed to get really sharp shots? regular outdoor portraits.
I've found that 1/250 works best for me.
However, when there is less light, I often get away with 1/125 or 1/160 when in CL burst mode and take about 4 frames.
At least one of them will be in focus.
I have never shot burst for portraits. Might have to give that a try. I guess it will give a better chance of getting a sharp shot. I usually use AF-C and single point. Maybe change it up a little bit for this particular lens? my other lenses are 85 and 135..... This one is heavier and longer focal length so I was wondering if I should ask for some tips.

Very nice set Elijah, looks like it was a sunny day, did you use a ND or CP filter?
Great control of highlights.

Thanks Marcelo! Nothing was being used, no filters

Elijah - you have really mastered this lens. I love your lighting and camera placement. Were you laying on the ground for a couple of these?
Yes, see below shot of me using this lens. I LOVE getting low when I use this lens. I get best results when I do this...

What's the string, or line, coming off her elbow in the last shot? Can that be PS'd out?
Woah, didn't even notice that!

Elijah - These are spectacular shots!
Your placement of the highlights is well thought out and the 200/2 compression effect and out of focus rendition is simply amazing.
May be I should stop following this thread, it's too tempting . This lens is out of my range anyway so the 135/2 DC will have to do.
