any fashion or portrait photos in here that use flash w/ this lens?
just curious if it's a pain in the ass since you have to stand so far from the model/strobes? seems like a recipe for having the modifiers popping into the frame accidentally.

Well, In my thread win, the last two photos I used an Elinchrom Ranger S head popped bare straight up camera left at a marble ceiling about 25 feet up. If you're shooting from very very far, then can use the modifier on the side or take two shots and clone/layer out.

Ok here are two shots of my kids comparing the 200 f/2 vs 85 1.4G both wide open. They are standing on the same spot but I have to move further away with the 200 f/2 to maintain the framing. If you can't see the difference in rendering then perhaps a trip to the eye doc is in order The 200 f/2 basically made the 85 1.4G look like a cheap kit lens.
This is obviously subjective, but to me the 85mm 1.4 shot actually looks much better here. Though it is true that 200mm f2 is giving much more background blur.
Also from the point of view of "background blur" the 85mm seem to be put to a disadvantage here as the boy is taller than the girl which will require you to move back quite a bit. To do a fair comparison you should use the same subject for both shots.

Actually the 200 f/2 was shot at a further distance, and still managed to beat the 85.
