I found this exchange quite amusing from ten years ago:

Great, I own out dated 1 series, and both the 24-70, and 24-105.
If my clients find out, I'm finished! Lol.

I've actually had my ear to the gossip mill lately and I did hear that many of your clients were just shocked, SHOCKED, when they realized you were using the 24-70 I and 24-105 and will never even bother so much as returning another call or email ever again and will look the other way should that happen to pass you out and about. Most have already burned and deleted (and by deleted I mean removed the contaminated HDs without even bothering to rescue anything else on them and tossed them into the test fusion reactor in Princeton). I think I even saw a WANTED poster up with your mug on it....Show more →
Perhaps Fred should start a Canon Old Farts forum where we could reminisce about what it was like trying to photograph with mirrors or trying to get faces in focus before our cameras did it for us.

I think modern lens has achieved high technical sharpness and spec,
but we feel sometimes we look back and feel nostalgic mood.
In this token, I still hold Nikon D750 and Canon 6D. Now we have fine A7R4
or Canon R3/5 or Nikon X5/6 that present much better spec in all aspects.
Above every opinion has own logical reasoning and own taste.
Since I am really beginner in photography world, all your inputs will help me to learn more.

Ironically, I just purchased this lens again for my R5, EOS R, and 5DSr. It's a great versatile, small lens. Love the built in macro feature in a pinch.
