Ahah i know , but there are limits to how much of my "on the clock" time i can spend testing lenses. And i wont have to test the 35mm f/1.4 as it is just too expensive for me to worry about. Having never shot the samyang im wondering if everyone finds it good and how samyangs quality control is.

Also , having started this thread without ahooting at 28mm. I just find it too wide for a light walk around/landscapes lens. So i guess i've moved to the 35mm focal length

35mm is one of my faves. 50mm is where I feel most at home, having grown up with that as my only option.

If I didn't have the 35 1.4G, I would for sure get the Samyang. I have their 85mm and 14mm and they are fantastic. Personally, I prefer manually focusing, if you feel the same, I would say get the Sammy...don't think twice.

If you like 35mm and not afraid to have MF you should try the Nikon 35/1.4 AI-s

How much of our "on the clock" time can you spend?

If you like 35 get the 35 f2. Some lenses are beyond the "looks on camera". Sometimes they are useful for the sexy process of "picture-taking"

I'm not sure about US prices; $500-$600?
