Thanks all for the input, looks like I should buy it and sell it for a little profit
Good idea. Buy it, try it, then flip it and make a few dollars.
I love full frame, and recommend you get a 5D Mark II eventually as a step up.
abqnmusa -- It seems so, but it's not that simple. These new 18MP sensors are pretty fine compared to the old 12+MP of the 5D. Lots more opportunity for detail, but you loose on the attempted shallow DOF you can get from full frame. If OOF areas are not so important, the advantage is with the T3i for best sharpness and detail, as well as modern Digic processor.
I find the 5d's files take PP abuse very well compared to modern camera's image files. They don't seem to degrade. Not sure why.
I've been thinking to sell my old 5d for a long time as I no longer use it as a main. Every so often when I use it, its images remind me why I shouldn't.
If you're willing to put up with the aging 5D classic, then I would get that. But it sounds like you'll also have to buy some EF lenses for it, making that low price for the camera body not so low.
I would do some more research on the 5Dc so you know what you're getting into.
The next camera I really want to upgrade to and keep for a long time is the 5dmk2. I have seen some bodies as low as 1300 since the 3 came out, the 2 is a camera I would probably use for years.
