I think the Hybrid finder is a nice idea that doesn't work in practice. I actually kinda like it in optical mode, except I have to rely on AF and that's a deal breaker. As an EVF, I consider it unusable. The problem is that Fuji has to compromise on the optics to get both the optical and EVF finders in there and it ends up having far too little magnification. If Fuji did the same finder with an 0.72x or 0.85x magnification, a la an M, or had it switch to a high magnification mode when switching to the EVF (the X100 is around 0.5x, my NEX-7 is 1.09x) I'd be a lot more interested....Show more →
The OVF works just fine for me. I would not buy any updated X100 without the OVF.

Interesting that no one wants a full-frame X100 ;-). 645 X100? ;-)
I guess if we're looking at fixed lens, I'd always prefer something like a 40mm equiv. Preferably a little quicker. After that, just incremental improvements like others have mentioned.
AFAIK there has been no mention of a replacement though, and the X100 is still in production...?

- Faster both in AF and processing power;
- A 43mm (equiv.) f/1.8 or 1.4 lens;
- 18 or 24 MP (no X-trans please);
- Better hybrid OVF accuracy;
- Higher resolution EVF with focus peaking or a digital RF simulator + mechanical focus ring;
- New higher capacity battery;
And please keep the silent shutter.
Another version with a APS-C sensor and a 28-60 f/2.8 zoom would be good, or maybe an upgraded X10 with the same zoom range but with a Sony RX100 sensor (this would be a killer).
