Nice job with these. I've shot models once or twice and they are fast little suckers! Their props spin a lot faster than full-sized ones, too. So you can certainly get away with faster shutter speeds on these, as you have done. Of course if you want more panning effect on the background then those speeds would have to come down.
For full sized planes I usually hover around 1/160 to get decent prop blur. Takeoff/landing shots might come down to 1/80 or 1/120 in order to get a nice background.

Thanks. I have visited the Mustang air to air thread on numerous occasions. I shoot the rc planes faster than the real deal. I am going to the Big Bear airshow in the morning and anticipate shooting around 1/320. It is a bloody shame that the Miramar show has been gutted.
