I have wondered if not having posted for a long time could give the appearance of not working very much. But I don't know if it would occur at all to clients and potential clients to think like that.
Not posting could also be because you're working a lot and are too busy to bother with posting. When you've got all the work you can handle, why even bother posting to try to increase business.
We blog the same day we deliver. Our average timing goes kinda' like this:
Shoot weddding. -Day after wedding: Cull -Next 2-5 days: Edit. -Next available day after editing is completed (if a weekday - better Facebook/blog traffic on weekdays): post 20-30 teasers on Facebook. Tag clients on Facebook. In description include blog post, copyright information, and request that they not re-crop the images. Also tag the venue and other vendors. Post link on bride/groom's facebook page with a huge thank you. Send out email with blog post, gallery link, and a thank you. Give ETA on custom thumbdrive and actual delivery of images.
I'm completely caught up on blog posts, and other than a wedding I just shot on Saturday, I'm entirely caught up on all of my work. I blog every wedding we do.

Sounds like someone's really working social media.

Funny you should mention that. I always wanted to be exclusively word of mouth, being adamantly opposed to working bridal fairs as they feel so "cold call" to me.
But the last wedding I shot I tagged my bride, and some of her family, and anyone I knew from the groom's side who happened to comment on the earliest teasers I posted. I also happened to know the bride's hair stylist, so I tagged her.
The very next day I got a call from a gal who is friends with the hairstylist and saw my pictures, who is getting married at the same venue. She says, "I love your images. I'm having major issues getting a valid response from the photographers that I hired. I'd love to work with you!"
She canceled on her previous photographer. Booked a big package with me. And I just scheduled their engagement session.
Funny how social media works, but man... does it work!
man... I really thought it was just me... This thread makes me feel better. I don't know why it's so painful, but I have to get over it and just get back into the habit.
