Thanks. Agree about the atmosphere thing, and it transfers into prints as well. I'm not saying mobile phone/Instagram works for everything, but for capturing a moment, a snapshot, a mood, a memory right there and then - to me, it works very well. I can tell, because looking at those kind of shots, either on my phone or print, it makes me feel something. That's what it's all about - to me.
Not sure if I'd call it a real kayak lol, it's a RTM Mambo. But it works okay for what it is. I dig the kayak experience.
That's cool! It almost looks like a scale model or something.
Here's some shots not really taken with my cell but rather of something I made FOR my cell. I hope that's within the scope of the topic.
It's just a leather flip-case with a little custom carving on front and back. It's not completed just yet but it's close enough that you can get some idea of how it'll look when it is.
Here it is just after templated, carved and stamped:
This is intended to fit onto a back shell for my Samsung Galaxy S3. You can kinda see the shell over to the right. It's the red plastic thingy there peeking into the shot.
Here is it colored, lacquered, cut out, and glued to the shell:

Next all I have to do is affix a rigid stay onto the flap and then sew on a lining and it'll be all done. This is the first time I've worked with leather like this since I made a belt in jr. high school so it's not all that great but it was pretty fun to design and make. Next up is a flip case for my Samsung Galaxy Note (I think).

Love it! These are amazing for phone cameras.
I think so. As I mentioned back in post one, I think the newer phone cameras are every bit as good as any of the P&S cameras available. And some of the better ones match up with or even surpass bridge cameras from just a couple of years ago. , as there is a phone with a glass Zeiss zoom lens, and also one with forty-some megapixels, I wonder if we'll ever see a cell-phone with a FF sensor?
Some months back another member here was "shocked and appalled" when I mentioned that I often go to camera shops and spend hours with the demo models and then leave without buying anything. I explained at the time that the Japanese culture was different from his and this behavior was both acceptable and expected. I gave the example of showroom massage chairs being used by customers regularly and said that the next time I was there I would take a pic of that and post it up. So with these I fulfill that promise:
The SIII over-sharpens photos in my opinion, but it's a pretty good camera for a mobile device. I think the cameras on the Apple stuff are better, though.
