Boris -- Got here late to the party! Thanks so much for the comparisons -- I like them very much. Beautiful work and scenery. I appreciate your "eye" and getting acquainted with your methodology in a new location.
Wow, I really dig your Plitvice set! Very nice! I could spend days just in that one location there! Sweeeet!
On the differences between the cameras it's really hard to say anything at all with one being in-camera JPeg and the other being LR conversions from the RAWs. But if those 100% crops from the JPegs are any indication the RX100 is pretty typical for a high-ish-end 2012 P&S. Which are usually fantastic for web-sized images but fall short on extreme crops or really large prints, etc. And it's for that reason that I think features and handling are the more important discussion points when critiquing them.
Thanks for sharing. This comparison and post is indeed very helpful for me!
For long I could not understand what is so special about Leica as when you look at images, you can't really see where it is better than modern DSLR, say 5D MKIII or D800.
High ISO performance is significantly better with 5D MKIII. Color, sharpness, contrast - depends on the lens, but you will never be able to tell which is which.
I tend to believe that the difference is not something you can see, it is the process really. I would think that it is more important to describe the process and experience rather than images these days.
P.S. I am a big fan of Croatia, have been there several times and I love Plitvice Lakes.
Great pics. Was Rovinj expensive? Where did you stay. How was the food/wine.
Rovinj is an extremely beautiful city but compared to other cities in Croatia it is quite expensive (maybe with exception of Dubrovnik which is probably even more expensive). Food is typically great but there are some tourist-traps that should be avoided. I stayed at a hotel a little bit outside of Rovinj, but I would not recommend this.
And thanks Bif and Light_Pilgrim for your comments.

Yes, you have already mentioned in many posts that YOU cannot tell the difference between the output of the M9 and other high end DSLR's. I think most of us know where you stand on this issue....

The experience is for the photographer, the images are for the viewer.
