Jim, these are really marvelous; not only wonderful light but great composition as well. I love silhouette shots and you not only got some great ones with respect to technique but the animals captured really translate well with horn and crest highlighted (maybe an oxymoron).
You have given me some great ideas for the next time.

For #7, how did you get that low angle of view? I assume you were inside a vehicle. I like them all.
Hey J, thanks for the comment....and good question. Yes, I was in the vehicle, a legal obligation, but to get the low angle effect I just backed away and used more focal length, reducing the angle - I also shot from from the lowest window and not out the top. Getting too close and then shooting out the top is the most common mistake photographers make on safari. I advise those who join me to take charge of their driver, and to position the vehicle EXACTLY where they want (within ethical limits of course) - do not leave your composition up to anyone else, or chance. Have the driver adjust the position 50 times if need be. The best drivers and guides only get you in the game - you make the play.

Thank you Eric, I really appreciate that given the talent and experience you have. Interesting light can be exploited from many angles, not just the obvious one.
