Thanx Eric. Mother and child are cute, and I don't recall seeing a longer horn than hers. Great light in 5, and thanx for differentiating the blacks and whites ~ Ron

I wouldn't want to get one of them mad at me!!! Fabulous stuff Eric, I can't imagine what it would be like to see these guys so close. Lovin them!
Tim
Unlike any other animal in Africa these guys conjure up thoughts of prehistory....remarkable work by whoever designed this beast!

Very nice collection of an impressive animal, Eric.
We use the word 'crèche' (sounds like crash) for children daycare.
Chris
Thanks Chris...when I first heard the collective for rhinos I thought it WAS "creche" but I guess the size and the fact that these guys rumble through the bushes make "crash" more appropriate...and oh yeah, they have been known to run full speed and crash into safari vehicles with less than a pleasant outcome for the vehicle.

Eric,
You should be very proud of your Africa shots. These like the others are excellent. #5 i this set is tops for me. Love the warm light and closeup of that horn!

Oh and another thing! You are now taking requests AND for grand animals like rhinos!!!! Oh I am humbled, the last image somebody requested from me was for a juvi American Robin I guess that puts me in my place
Tim
You betcha Tim...anything from 1968-74 and surely before disco...oh you mean photos...it's like a scavenger hunt through hard drives of years gone by.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Eric.
These are marvelicious (I know, but there SHOULD be such a word ).
When the mud is dry, these mighty beasts sure look white to me .
These animals are so impressive it's easy to forget that you've done some excellent photography to get such images.
Bravos for your rhinos.
Charlie
You're the best Charlie...thanks so much for you endless support.

Lots of details but looks kind a close to me. Nice series Eric.
Phoo
Believe me Phoo, I wouldn't dare get too close to these guys unless they initiated it....and in this case there was a pan (pond, small body of water) between us and the long horned ones. The real close up at the end happened as one kept walking toward the vehicle...they have horrible eye sight so they just keep coming until the spook themselves. But, truth be told, white rhinos are pretty docile and approachable....totally the opposite of black rhinos that are at the opposite end of that spectrum...if you approach them on foot, make sure there is a convenient tree to climb.

Glad you liked them Ron...the horns can be quite impressive and formidable weapons...but are unfortunately the source of their demise.
