it takes full advantage of the panel and it's internal electronics vs. simply setting some LUT values in the computer's graphics chip (which is what the Spyder s/w does). It's the whole point of getting a professional unit like the PA241.

Thanks again howard. Is the spyder4 hardware as capable as the spectravision? If so, sounds like it's a more versatile system with the spyder & the spectravision software than buying the integrated spectravision hardware/software.

I could still return the spyder4 hardware which I recently upgraded to but if it's more versatile it seems like a win/win situation to have sypder4 hw&software and spectravision ii software

I'm running dual 21.5" Dell Ultra Sharp U2212HM ePVI LED lit displays with 102.46 PPI and am very happy.

I got them from Dells Refurb outlet @ $180.00 each shipped. No light bleed and both calibrated great with my i1D2.
