The D7000 cannot produce as shallow DOF as the D600, obviously. Sometimes FX can be too shallow with fast lenses and/or lots of telephoto. I can get an extremely shallow DOF with my D7000. The sensor is easily large enough for shallow DOF with good lenses. My main complaint with the D7000 is no 1080 30P frame rate. The D600 can do 1080 30P. My video related complaint about both the D600 and the D7000 is no electronic aperture control while in the LV video mode. To get aperture control, you need older lenses that do have manual iris adjustment capability.
