A warm welcome to the OM-D Club, Colin! Nice trio of primes you got there! Get the 75/1.8 too ... as this is arguably the sharpest m43 lens with the nicest bokeh!

The only thing I don't like about the 75mm 1.8 is the 150mm equivalent working distance

What about the hideous finish? What ever is Olympus thinking with that on the 12, 45, & 75? And to ask $300 more for a black version of the 12? And people (rightfully) complain about Canon's recent sky-high prices. Olympus isn't making itself look very good in my eyes with this policy.

The finish is impeccable. Do you mean the silver color? Are white lenses on a black body not hideous?
Yes, the color. At least the off-white Canons aren't reflective! But what really irks me is that they obviously recognize that some would prefer black, so they offer it (for the 12, anyway), but for $300 more. Why? Do they suppose we consider that it costs them any more at all, let alone $300, to finish it in black rather than that shiny finish? (Mumble mumble.)

Thank you, Sir!
The 75mm just came in the mail on Saturday, but I haven't had a chance to play with it yet. Expect a set from this lens next :-)

It's a cross between the 135mm and 200mm lenses. Are you saying that the 135mm or 200mm are not good focal lengths either? I think 150mm feels odd only because it was never a common FL in 35mm photography ... even though the old Carl Zeiss Contax Sonnar T* 180/2.8 lens was extremely popular with fashion photographers.
Perhaps old Pentax users feel better with this FL:
^ What I loved most about Europe was how everyone loved being outside be it walking in the parks, reading next to a river, having a picnic, etc... We just don't have enough of that here in the states at least anywhere I have been. Seems like everyone is running around working or staying inside playing video games and watching movies.
