[edit] - Actually, here are the original and a cropped version of the same. I ended up liking the small portion of the taller building on the left hand side but offer a version where that is cropped out. Any preference?
Lots and lots of beautiful photos in here, looks like most people really like the camera and lenses, I do tend to see (could be imagination of course) more spontaneous photos as people seem to have the camera with them to more and different places. Love it.
Four from the horse jumping competition as mentioned. I ended up using only the Oly 45mm and Pan Leica 25mm, never used the 100 and 180mm Nikons as they were slightly too long for the indoor environment and not really right for shooting this sport for the first time ever, I wanted somewhat higher chances of at least usable photos.
For to start with, was thinking about doing the whole thing as a documentary reportage but haven't really had the time to edit the rest. Not much editing done though, some slight micro contrast/clarity and on some occasions a bit cooler white balance to even out all the yellow in the stables.
Grooming brushes, pretty much straight out of the camera RAW.

Nice Julian - I think the second image is my favorite.
As for the two crops I posted, I like the first because it creates an effect of less negative space between moon and buildings.
Bob that is the way I initially viewed the two images. I did then write about the negative space, which is what did sway me towards that first decision. Then it became indecisive the more I looked, so did not send it.
I then started to think there must be a better term than negative space, is there one?

Well, if we like the space, it should be called positive space, shouldn't it?
More with the 75mm this afternoon while waking the dog.
The lightning was quite difficult during the actual competition, I really need to try it again and see if I can do better. Will also try using the longer manual focus Nikon lenses, that might work better against the backlighting if I can manage to keep it further away from the lens opening.
Anyway...
Anna preparing the horse to look extra pretty
Tight shot, held by a single hand while feeding the horse with the other (happy I got all my fingers still).
Sandra is checking out the contestants. This shot was shot and focused by pressing the screen from chest level, really like this feature!
And the actual jumping by Sandra and Anna whom are twins (if you think they look alike :-P )
Both Sandra and Anna completed the course without any mistakes. Well done!
I so much enjoyed shooting both in the stables and the actual competition, I can improve on a lot of things here and look forward to the next opportunity, shooting something that one has never done before could very well be one of the most rewarding things to do.
I also really liked the EM-5 for this, used only the Pan Leica 25mm and Oly 45 for it. Small size capable of hand holding with one hand if needed, IBIS, small size doesn't scare horses nor the people as much (many of the detail shots were taken very close). Many of the shots I couldn't have done the same way with the D700 I had before due to size and more importantly, weight. So far very very happy with the system.
Wilbus many fantastic images. Love the portrait of Sandra. I think the E-M5 and 45 f1.8 match as a portrait lens is stunning. I also love the feature of touch screen focus and shoot.
