So, I know this is an image thread but just curious how many of you switched from the Sony NEX system to the OM-D and how you feel about the switch at this point. I have a NEX-7 which I really like but the OM-D is coming on thursday!
I use both because I love the Zeiss ZA 24mm F1.8 and the Contax G 45mm F2 in the OM lens body.
Ultimately the NEX-7 has a higher quality sensor with better DR, noise, and of course resolution. Love both and use them as companion systems.

How about flexibility in post? The NEX-7 files have a lot of latitude - I had seen some people say the OM-D's files are great, but can't be pushed quite as far as the 7's.
^ Coming from my A77 (close to NEX-7), I'm seeing about the same capability in working with the RAWs, with maybe a slight edge to the A77. Very close, IMO.
I want to say the A77's JPEGs are actually more malleable (I was amazed at both highlight and shadow manipulation with the Sony before blowing the gamut), but I haven't done any A/B comparisons.
I have to wonder if these differences aren't due to the minimum ISO of 200 on the OM-D, something I really wish I understood (because it's so disappointing) - a stop of noise when it comes to comparing baseline performance can have a pretty good influence on final numbers.

Holy crap Martin. I just bought an OM-D and separately the panleica 25. Is it really that sharp. I just might have to sell my NEX! I don't even have the camera or lens yet.
Yes, but the 20/1.7 is just as ”sharp”. For me the qualities that make it stand out is more about color, clarity and bokeh.

Well, I have a hard time seeing the use of both side by side. I'm selling all of my M lenses because they don't make much sense on the even smaller sensor, and there are good native alternatives. The only real downside is the lesser EVF, but it's alright.
My first outing with my OM-D. Really like it for landscapes. Found the ability to adjust the curves in the viewfinder in live time a great feature. Used my Oly 9-18 on these two.
Camera came today! So did the Oly 45/1.8 and the Panny 25/1.4. I shot run and gun style on my way home and luckily it's a nice sunny day. I only shot with the 25/1.4. All I can say is holy crap, this AF is lightning quick and the 25/1.4 is razor sharp. The AF is wonderful for street but first some architectural shots from downtown.

^ Awesome combo Bob (if I do say so myself), and I really like that first photo - the colors and geometry are great.
Thanks! This camera/lens combo is one awesome little dude. I'm just messing around with this for the first time but man are these sharp. Here are some street shots during the same walk hom. Just came back from another walk so more to follow. I may fill this thread myself . . .
I told you so! These images are super-sharp and super-clean. Good job!

This turned out to be way more difficult to shoot than I thought. Even more difficult to display properly on the web. Oh well...
Very nice results, though.
If you've never read it, try reading Light, science and magic. It's a book detailing lighting techniques without the heavy use of software - some of the stuff is crazy complex haha
I keep it as a reference, though, when I get into some complicated lighting scenarios.
