Fine photos of difficult subjects...John, if you can expose an old coot properly, as you did, then you are ready for almost anything.
The Nutcase also gave you a piercing look, I hope he didn't attack you.
I'm guessing this is rain caught in a sun ray?
Or is it bugs?
Cool pic.

Bird photography is one of the most difficult to practice. I have always admired all of you practicing it, as you combine very high photographic skills and patience.
As a matter of fact, the thought of start taking BIF pictures has past several times from my mind, since that would help me improve my skills in aviation photography -especially on panning. As I don't spend enough time for it, I usually end up taking bird pictures occasionally, like this couple of Streptopelia decaocto which came close enough to my backyard, interrupting my morning coffee time.
Wow, huge difference for me.
I've always changed color space from photoRGB to sRGB to post pics.
Thanks for showing this.

In sRGB (it definitely mutes a few of the images, especially removing all the brilliant bands of the sunset and the purple flowers get radically muted and changed)

John, what is your secret > how come you get so many Buzzards buzzing overhead ?
Is it your eau de cologne or something ?
Here are a couple of objects made a very long time ago. The water hand pump is a derelict. The flower planter is still in use and thriving.

Psych, you really seem to be going after that KFC's feathery arse.
I guess, that is the only way to get him.
Are you by any chance using a Better beamer to shoot KFC in flight ?

Kingfisher log:
Last evening the tall grass spoiled 12 of 14 shots.
This evening the grass had been cut and I was tracking him across the pond when I hit the buffer limit in raw.
Tomorrow evening I will be shooting LJPG and the better beamer will be attached to the 580exII I used this evening.

Good going Doc.....I particularly like the heron "perched" in shallow water.
Doing some more portrait studies of Wood pijuns......in fact, I am comparing different camera-lens combinations for IQ, "rendering" and operating agility. That has worked rather well as long as the light as well as the targets remain very similar if not identical.
