Lisa, I missed this thread until now!!! Again primo photography! The young women are indeed beautiful and your lighting of them only helps their beauty!
Just fantastic!! Yes as mentioned above and below, a bit "different" than your usual postings BUT.....seeing all the posts tells me that you are doing something correctly! They certainly don't hurt my eyes when viewing then or now!

Old thread. Phil's critique was spot on.
Well, that explains it. I didn't notice the date. I was looking at these shots and thinking, "no way these are from Lisa Holloway". They looked like a major step backwards for her and I thought they were average at best. I was keeping my mouth shut as I didn't want to offend. All anyone needs to do is look at her more recent posts to get an idea of the truly fantastic work she is currently capable of and you'll realize this post is not a criticism of her but more a testament to how far she's come in 8 years time.
This is Lisa Holloway https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1600896
Well, style is certainly a personal thing, but I tried for 10 years shooting weddings and portraits and was never able to come up with a "formula" that would give me results as wonderful as those. Having total mastery of your photographic tools, the ability to recognize and take advantage of the best light and locations, the ability to recognize and utilize complimentary color palettes, and the ability to allow your subjects to be comfortable in their own skin is all easier said than done.

If you are interested in this type of work, check out Irene Rudnyk. She is very generous, posting free tutorials on YouTube showing how she works and her post processing techniques.
I like her unpretentious, down to earth approach, her ability to work with her subjects, her ability to improvise and use natural light and find great locations. She also comes up with fun costumes for her models. I like her effective but subtle post processing techniques. She shows taste and restraint.

Yes, a huge set. But, I liked #2 from the start and it held onto the lead to the end. Love the sort of tone on tone thing with her light dress against the white wall. Great pose. Fantastic shot.

In all fairness, I'm not sure if Irene Rudnyk was ever a professional photographer. She's a professional YouTuber, as best as I can ascertain. That means she gets to hire models, stylists, and pick her locations -- often exotic -- to create stunning images. man, if we could all do that! My hat's off to her, still, because she's doing an amazing job with that.
But you can't compare someone who has all that and basically just shoots for herself and compare her to any one of us, Lisa included. For this shoot, Lisa was in Kingman and had three average seniors and one average family to photograph, and she was limited to her local locations for this shoot.
Definitely love Irene's work and she really seizes upon her opportunity, she's killing it. But if she's a professional photographer, just get me a link to her website. Wake me up when you find it. I'll be taking a nap to pass the time. :-)

Most of the photographs I've seen that Lisa took are those of her children. Paid jobs are less frequent and from her posting history I'm sure we would have seen all of them.
Also, Lisa sells her actions on the internet. Given that, I think Lisa and Irene may be more similar than you think.

In some ways, they are. they both sell their services. And occasionally, Lisa has done styled shoots. She's in Montana now, I think, and I'm not sure how much photography she's been doing the past year.

My thoughts exactly. I checked out the link expecting to find some great photography. Lost interest almost immediately as I do with any Youtubers.

Too bad you didn't stick around. Her free tutorials are quite useful. I see you are mostly a Nature and Wildlife guy so her post processing and posing videos might not have been very useful to you.
If you just want to see her photos, you can go here. Notice she's a KelbyOne instructor and also that she's done workshops in London, Berlin, Dubai and Calgary.
I think at her worst, she can be about as kitschy as Lisa. I'm also not a big fan of some of her poses. Still her overall body of work is very good and there are some stunners in the bunch.
