Very nice comp in #1 but try to avoid distracting peek through the leafs parts.
Great job and sharpness on the whites in #2.
Love the comp in #3. It might need just a little bit more DOF and sharpness.
The last one is excellent. Very well done, Ken.

Thanks for the detailed feedback Chris. Appreciated.

#1 the image looks a bit soft to me, the exposure a bit bright perhaps. The lower flower seems to hold more sharpness than the upper? The comp is very likeable
#2 center needs to be sharper, a shot from overhead is often not too flattering and often does not express much depth or form IMO. Look for different angles that show layers of the flower or interesting views.
#3 I like where you were going with this one Ken, IMO it needs a bit more of an anchor point to draw in and lock then drift back and enjoy I am putting up and interpretation of what could be done, in Curves there were adjustments at the dark and light ends only. Additional sharpening was applied, a boost in Vibrance and a spike in the orange hues. I post it only because it for me is easier to 'show' than 'tell'
#4 How bout that! Simply gorgeous Ken, though more sharpness would be nice I can appreciate this nicely lit shot and that knock out BG you have here, very very sweeeet. If you care to push it then I think the potential is there, you captured more than you may realize, the shot is a dream shot Ken, that is all good and I love light like this. I also include a little rework, slight crop, slight vibrance, slight curves and applied sharpening.
Your are seeing good things, push yourself to see more when you find light and subjects like this, higher. lower, angles that place it on amazing BG's, line up other colors in the BG to echo or what ever is around you and the light!
Lots of helpful hints and tips Karl. Many thanks for taking the time to comment and working the images up. I like the little bit of extra punch your touches provided.
I really like them all, Ken.
My main thought was that a bit of sharpening might help, and I was going to experiment with my favorite of these- #4. Then Karl came along and said about the same thing. Well, Karl's a master at these kinds of images; I'm just pleased to have been in the same "thinking zone."
These images are really beautiful- and #4 is a knockout winner!
