Hello WA gang! I used to enjoy participating now and then in assignments, and I still stop by and vote fairly often. Just checked in today to see some entries and thought I'd play along for a switch.
I took this image today playing around with some HDR stuff. Seems like it fits the assignment ok, so here it is!
I'll repeat Travis and admire the contrast between the cool turquoise and the grey concrete; I especially like the way the blue is echoed in the door trim, and the way the rounded blob designs contrast with the stark angles of the industrial buildings...
This is the kind of HDR I try for; the kind where you can't really even tell it was done, it just imitates what the eye actually sees...Good job, there.
Thanks for the positive feedback folks! I'm looking forward to seeing what others enter - but so far its kind of lonely... maybe there is a strategy to these weekly assignments that I've missed out on suggesting something like early entries are baaaad...
timing is hit or miss on who enters what and when, better to get a good idea in early! If I had all the time in the world I would enter early in case of a tie...but sometimes, well all the time my schedule determines when I might get around to doing my shot.
Thanks Mark and ramorak - I really liked the colors on this too, and thought it popped really nicely off the wall. The artist did a great job making it look 3D.
Thanks everyone for the feedback - I'm enjoying all of the entry's and am glad I jumped into this week's assignment. A lot of talented and creative people hanging around here with trophies by their names...
Ed, it looks like you have an artist in your community. Is that signed "Too High Jen"? The graffiti brightens an otherwise dismal loading bay, and the hhr adds drama. Good entry!
