p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · #503 Escape from Children's Hospital

Before any of you call my wife, let me explain....

Although my son did in fact reach speeds of 5-10 mph rolling downhill in a wheelchair he was never in any real danger. My daughter managed to catch him at the bottom almost every time!

Even if this idea for a picture didn't work out, I figured I might at least end up with a trip to a hospital emergency room.

Comments are always welcomed!

Cool shot, not a ride I would recommend someone trying,

Great shot, well done! Glad a real trip to the hospital was not required!

Thanks for the comments!

It really looks a lot faster in the picture than it did in real life.

Maybe it looks faster because the camera was stationary and the subject was moving past as opposed to the camera panning along with the subject.

How did you get the motion blur if the camera.was stationary?

Well, not just stationary, stationary and rotating.

What I meant was that I was standing in one place and following the subject as it raced past me. So I was turning my head to follow the action and that makes the blur even greater. As opposed to having the camera facing directly at the subject and moving the camera and the subject together at the same speed.

Very nice panning job Eager. This shot is right up my alley. Wish I had thought of it. Good luck.

Good idea, eager, and fine execution...uh, maybe the wrong terminology there...

i'm sure you were on top of the situation here; after all I survived many a fall from a red wagon on the steep driveway...but there are a few scars...

Great shot certainly looks like he's going fast, bet he enjoyed this too. I like to engage my kids with this contest whenever I can also.

Reminds me off my days in the army when the medics would have wheel chair races. I really like the feeling of speed in this photo. Great idea!
