I was really hoping SLR Magic would take off like samyang has. (I was also hoping they would expand to making NEX mount lenses) Sounds like they are missing the mark.
It's funny, glue typically sounds like a cheap way to keep something together but the reality is, as others have mentioned, the right glue can be better then screws and etc. Screws can wobble out over time and allow for enough play to throw off calibration, are easily susceptible to vibration, etc.... My only concern with products that are assembled with glue is for the repairablilty down the road.
Hey, I make no excuses for the "glue" but the quality of the materials, optics, etc. is really rather good. They need to address the assembly and packaging issues though, no doubt.

OK, if they change to super glue, I wonder how they service it when needed? put some chemical to dissolve it?
In speaking with SLR Magic previously, the reason the lens isn't "superglued" together using something like epoxy, etc. is because of servicing. If such a strong glue were used, the lens would be near impossible to get apart again for servicing. So it's either a matter of finding just the right glue - or adding screws or something else as a backup.
FlyPenFly, that is the million dollar question - whether or not they'll be around down the road. Only time will tell.

Roger, do you have any meaningful stats on how often they break compared to mainstream equipment?
Carsten, we less that two dozen copies total, almost all of them less than a year old, so I don't have the kind of information I'd like before making a generalization. But they don't seem to be problematic at all. Dented caps and hoods can't be replaced easily, which is a problem for rental houses, but not a big deal for most people I don't think.
I don't know about a plot... Just a lot of tiresome bickering between forum members.
I know we at LVL updated our review as soon as multiple, credible reports came to us about what was happening. SHP updated his review today (or yesterday).
