David: these really capture a Maine flavor for me. I particularly like the color you've retained in the pebbles in the foreground of #3, but I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite (any of them would be welcome on my hard drive!). Looking forward to my annual trek to Maine, but sad that it can only be for one week this year. Anyway, keep your outstanding Maine scenes coming. I look forward to your posts.

Thanks Dave! Those pebbles range in size from about the size of a golf ball all the way to bigger than basketballs... pretty much depending on how close you are to the water's edge. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for good weather when you visit
Hi David
These are all nice. I especially like the second and fourth images. Nice colors and detail. Schoodic is the quiet side of Frenchmans Bay. What is there not to like about this park!

Lasse, Barry and Scott... thanks for the kind words. Schoodic is indeed the quiet side of the park - although there is Isle au Haut - what must be even quieter. I have to get out there sometime.
Stunning images. I want to go there so bad but i'm not sure I want to go in July when there are many people, especially Cadillac Mountain. I want to go for at least a week and rent a cottage near the park.
p.2 #10 · Schoodic Peninsula, Acadia National Park
Nice series. The second image is my favorite due to the composition with the very strong S shape.
I have no idea where you found a quiet part of Acadia. I had a very quick visit many years ago and did not appreciate it. It seemed like tourist areas, resorts, and fishing villages interspersed with small areas of national park. I would guess it is an area that you need to spend a long time getting to know.

Thanks. Schoodic is across Frenchman Bay from Mount Desert Island (the busy part of Acadia), so i os definitely much quieter.

Thanks Camperjim. Summer definitely gets crazy, but outside of that, Acadia isn't actually that busy. As I mentioned, though part of Acadia, Schoodic Peninsula is across Frenchman Bay, and as such, it doesn't get nearly as much traffic. I think there are many national parks where your sentiments would ring true... I've experienced Zion, Arches, Canyonlands in similar conditions... and then there was Yosemite! Lots of people appreciating America's beauty, eh!
