Mine is in for repair for the 2nd time, aperture jammed open and now the back element is loose.
When it worked it was great, super sharp, sharper than I need, shot a f2 often, focus was fast and sharp, especially good for low light and equal best into the light....
I love mine. No problems ever, just great sharp images with the best bokeh. The 50 on the other hand has all the symptoms you describe. I'll be sending it in shortly.
