I ended up making the long trip to pickup my 7-14 from my cottage and am now in NYC. I'm glad I did - so far I've used it quite a lot.
I did leave my 100-300 at home thinking it was too long and am now kicking myself. Today on the harbor ferry I saw Obama's helicopters. With the 14-140 I got some shots which if Zoomed in reveals some Secret Service agents on guard, but if I had the longer reach it would have been really fun.
And today. I caught a Rangers playoff game and again the extra reach would have been great. oh well, live and learn. Next trip I will bring at least three lenses going from ultra wide to ultra long.
Henrik is a master. They do, however, play a very boring style. Four men stacked in the box with no possible way for the puck to get through. What you can see on TV is glaring when you are there in real life and see there is almost no way a shot could get through. Effective, but boring to watch.
I could crop - batteries ran out halfway through the second period so I don't really know what I have - but it would have been so much nicer to have 600mm off the bat instead of 280mm !
Was that not their regular season modus operandi ? I didn't watch them at all.
