p.2 #1 · Canon CPS repair costs - recent huge increase?

Andy, I may have to contact him. I've sent 3 lenses to CPS for drops. Yes, I am clumsy and should be beat over the head. Two - my 135L and 24L, came back in working order, but have since developed the same issue they had after the drop. The 24L has sharp center focus and what appears to be severe motion blur around the outside 2/3 of the shot. No matter the shutter speed. The 135L will not lock focus when shooting a subject beyond a certain distance. Both were the same behaviors they displayed after the initial drop. The 135L made it a year, the 24L didn't even make it 6 months.

My 35L AF was severely affected by a drop - weird, blurry, crazy shots, then after a couple of clicks an error message asking me to clean the contacts. I sent it off and it came back doing the exact same thing. It flat out won't work on any of my 3 bodies.

I have to send all 3 off again and don't want to spend several hundred dollars on repairs if they are going to come back either a) not working or b) working for a brief amount of time and then malfunctioning again.

Yes, the drops are my fault but I paid good money to have these lenses fixed and I'm frustrated.

How come you didn't send the 35L right back and the 24L within the 6 months? 1) the 35L was never fixed 2) they have 6 month warranty on repairs.
