I've see these night herons quite often at a lake I stop at in the morning on my way home but never have had the oppertunity to get close enough to shoot them.......

I'm lucky there are located at my work site, I can take a walk before work, at lunch or after work to check if they are around!

Taken not very far from the building I work in. The site where I work has more than 1000 acres of restored praries, lakes and streams. This stream runs very close to where I park.
Amazing shots Gene, the first one is top notch!!! I like the way you frame him in the natural setting. Are these handheld? If yes, I wanna know how much you bench-press each day...

Thanks Niko. Wow, if I could hold that baby as still as that Night Heron I could hand-hold 1/20s. . Both are on a tripod.
