I was recently on spring break in FL with the family - and enjoyed several great outings at a couple wildlife areas near Delray Beach (Wakodahatchee and Green Cay Wetlands).
I have many images I've been slow to process, but here are a few firsts for me: the Purple Gallinule, the Sora, and the Painted Bunting. Also included a Common Galinule chick, which was so funny looking with it's bald head and tiny wings.
All shot with the amazing 5DIII! Please excuse the feeder on the last bunting shot .
the third shot (gallinule portrait) is really nice, what great colors. that look of the sora is better than any look (and photo!) i have ever had at that bird.
Sure looks like you had a great time Jim and are enjoying the new body. 3 is a lovely shot, those guys sure are pretty but I have a feeling the locals think they are oridinary The Bunting is one of North America's prettiest birds. I would shoot that on a feeder any day Great stuff!

#7 is a lovely shot in a lovely setting. And #2 is also fantastic. The colours are too crazy to believe. That camera looks like a beauty. Don

Wow, stellar set of shots here!! The gallinulles are to die for. 1 and 2 are my picks of the set - such awesome sharpness and color in these shots.
Thank you very much, Ashley. The gallinules were such a treat to see - thanks for the picks!

We had a blast, Tim. The spring activity there was phenomenal. Isn't it funny how simple the exotic nature of a species is...if it's not in our backyard it's exotic . I had that some thought on a recent trip to Panama..."our guide sees these amazing birds every day"...one man's painted bunting is another man's scrub jay... thanks for for the comment, Tim.
