Your only going to get a MA of 0 if your lens and body are both perfectly at the ideal spec. Tolerances arnt tight enough to achieve this, prices are WAY too low to offer that level of accuracy.
I have a few 0 results on my 1DMKlV...and I'm interested in where I can find these big whites in WAY low pricing..I'll take a 600mm and 800mm
I've only adjusted my 100-400 and I was thankful of the two settings as my 100-400 is always radically different from 100-200 vs 200-400. 200-400 I need +6 but 100-200 I need about -2. I found though that the new system still has its downfall because it does some sort of scale between the two values. Therefore if I set -2 and +6 for the 100 and 400mm ends respectively, I don't have accurate settings for the mid range as I need +6 by 200mm but only get it near 400mm. Therefore, I still had to compromise my 100mm setting and left it at +1 so that it scaled faster towards +6. The ideal system would be specific settings for every 1/4 of the zoom range. Still it is an improvement over the old system of having to choose between +6 or _2 as an absolute value for the entire range.
