I haven't done a comprehensive test yet for all my f1.2 (Pentax-A & K, Canon 50 FDL, Nikon 50 Ais, Olympus 50, Canon FD 55, Rokkor 58) but from couple of test shots, I observed that Pentax-A is significantly sharper then the Pentax K. For close distance, Pentax-A is significantly sharper than Nikon 50 Ais. From long distance, Nikon is the winner. Hope I could find time to do a more proper tests
because i have 2, one for film and one with a sony mount. i'm thinking i will probably sell my a55 and get a NEX-7 as my only digital camera for a while (till somebody comes out with a FF i can live with), which means i won't need a sony mount rokkor.
You guys are certainly making a strong argument for the Rokkor 58/1.2 at any rate. Alexandre's got a clean copy on the B&S boards that's kind of making me wish I still had a Canon on which to shoot it.
I found that the FL 58/1.2 is nearly identical but is a tad sharper at f/1.2 than the Rokkor. It has the same creamy bokeh as the Rokkor too. It's a lot cheaper than the Rokkor tho. And since it's an FL mount I think it's more difficult to adapt to modern bodies.

i don't doubt it's sharper, but i've not seen anything in your pics that makes it look similar in bokeh or other aspects of drawing style.

I should probably repurchase a Rokkor 58/1.2 and do a heads up. I'll keep an eye out for a deal on one and try to remember to do that.
And then you can start a "Rokkor isn't any different" thread
